Win 95/98 Left click produces Properties Page !!!???
Howdy
I am using Win 98SE and Me on a couple of my machines right now. I have also seen this problem in other versions of windows (not 2K, NT4 or XP yet). Basically when you're on the desktop and you want to see properties you left click to highlight the icon and then right click to get your list of options then click on properties. BUT sometimes the desktop seems to get confused and left clicking on an icon gets you the properties page which is NOT what you want (you want to launch something) !!!??? I also notice that the offending icon seems to stay highlighted nomatter what you do. My only remedy for this is usually logging off/back on which is a pain in the butt. Am I doing something wrong here ? Is there an easy fix for this one ? Any help appreciated. Thanks The Web Gecko |

Web Gecko,
I just right-click on it the first time to see properties. No need to left-click to high lite it and right click. Carl |

one solution to try:
under folder options/custom settings change "single click to select, double click to open" to "single click to open, point to select" see if this helps.... |
