What would happen if I wanted to use Windows 98 (which does not support dual processors) in a dual processor system – would it still work? It would be intriguing if it did because I know that the chipset on dual processor systems shares interrupts received among the processors – so if Windows 98 is only using one processor and the chipset gives the other an interrupt then the other processor will begin executing code and will confuse Windows possibly leading to crashes.

I've never done it but have been told that it will work. It just will not make use of second processor.

Hi ACM,
In a dual processor system running Win98, one processor will be used like in a single processor system and the other processor will just sit there doing nothing. Cricket
