Accessing XP computer

We've got here two computers. This one I'm posting on, and another XP box that we have no idea what the password to the one and only account on it is. We've already figured out how to mount its harddrive on this computer and have access to its registry. Does anyone have any ideas on how we would go about changing the password to the one account on the computer, or making a new account? It's gotta be in the registry somewhere.
TIA

We found a program that makes a disk with 3 driver files on it. Then you boot with the winXP cd and hit F6 to load additional drivers. When it loads the driver on the disk it sets the administrator password to 12345, and reboots. I'm not sure why it couldn't just make a bootable floppy to do it without the xp cd, but it worked.

Not free.

Not sure if the demo will work. We got hold of the full program. (I'm sorry, but I'm not paying 200 bucks to reset a password..)

renegade - that's much more easier than this - Slave the Lost Password computer Hard drive to the one which is working OK.
Boot to WinXp - here in MY Computer or Explorer change the Directory of the Second hard drive - with this I mean the hard drive which you don't know the Password for to \Windows\System32\Config and now look for a file named SAM and note this file has NO EXTENSION - Delete that file
Shutdown the Computer - place the hard drive back into the other computer - boot with it and when you be asked to enter a password just hit Enter. that's it - after that you can change the password as you like - the same way as you use to do it on your other computer -

We tried messing around with the SAM file, but didn't actually delete it. We did something to it so that when it booted up it said there was corrupted hardware or something. I had backed it up though so I fixed it. But, I'll remember that. Just have to delete it.

The computer also ahd alot of software tied to the user name. The user name had also been changed from the original, so the login named differed from the user folders tied to it. Didn't want to have the mess with fixing that later.

SAM doesn't care about any users - it's the Administrators Login and this will be on every Win2K WinXP or NT machine..
