Jim, you should know better by now than to ask something like that here!

Sorry, didn't think it was illegal or immoral...

And why is it illegal? It's just for example... You acquire a dodgy copy of Office (you think it's real maybe, from a street retailer) then you purchase a new copy with a legal CDKey. You obviously don't want to uninstall your old version and just want to update the CD Key

Your decision though, delete the post if you must

I am aware of the XP serial change being posted up on Microsoft KB; but am yet to see any similar information for Office XP being brought out by Microsoft.

And regarding why it is illegal, you probably have stated exactly why it is .. to paraphrase your original statement "... You acquire an illegal copy of Office.." I cannot think of any retailer selling fake licenses that you arent aware of before and cant think of any reason why you should finally get aware of it; and then go out and buy another office XP?

We did note your similar post about dodgy Windows XP copies here . However for reasons stated above, I will close this thread down .. unless you or anyone else can get similar information released from Microsoft.
Meanwhile, it is my suggestion that you change your software retailer, and try someone that you can trust.
