Slow shutdown/reboot
Every since I set my XP computer to network with my 98 computer, I am getting really slow shutdowns and reboots. I looked in Event Viewer and I see the following error message:

What does the Windows 98 computer use the XP computer for? Sounds like something is accessing the registry as you try to shutdown...
Does this event viewer message appear after EVERY slow shutdown? Are there programs installed on the Windows 98 machine which need to access your XP computer or is the network only used for file sharing? Thanks, Jim |

I think it was happening because I usually turn the router off unless I have a file to share or have to use the printer connected to the Windows 98 computer. I disabled the connection and now the shutdown is faster.
