booting up via remote (network, etc)

Please forgive me if this question is somewhat ridiculous.

I work in a studio with 7 Macs and three PCs. The pc's are dedicated synth/samplers only and the macs are recorders/sequencers. The PC's are nowhere near the control center of the room (they're rackmounted with the other synths), which brings me to my question:

We would like to be able to boot the pc's from the control room. I know that on my PC at home (which i built through the help of this board), my motherboard allows for boot on LAN, USB boot, PXE (i don't know what that is actually), etc. I've never tried any of these accept for once accidentally booting via usb. However, the pcs are controlled by the Mac's and we're kinda wondering if it can even be done. Could anybody enlighten me or at least point me in the right direction? Are there other options as well? I hope I was not too vague (i'm a bit too tired to speak clearly).

Thanks in advance,
~jeremy

Thanks for the link. that might help. We don't need to power the macs remotely, just the pcs, but we want to power them up from the macs. That link may be the ticket, though.

thanks again.
