boot.ini in XP?
I am trying to create an xp boot disk. Where is the boot.ini file located in xp?

duh, thanks. I already knew that. Which folder? I ran a search and it came back saying it couldnt find boot.ini in hidden or reg folders.

In the root directory: C:\.
Make sure you have the option "Display hidden folders and files" selected. |

You probably already knew this also but the CD is bootable.

boot.ini is a protected system file. to access it open explorer\tools\folder options\view.
check "show hidden files and folders" and clear "Hide protected operating system files (Recomended)" You will then be able to copy it to your boot disk. As you know I`m sure you will need to copy the NTLDR, NTDETECT and boot.ini. |
