Hi leonnorris
Try booting into Safe Mode and running it from there. And welcome to the Pc Mechanic forums. Best of luck . . . Gary |

You can't have a bunch of things running in the backround while trying to defrag. As soon as it needs to do some other HD activity it interrupts the defrag, that's why safemode should do the trick.Or you can use task manager to shut all apps down first. What OS do you have, and what are your C: & D: drives??

another way to shut down all running programs is to hit control/alt/delete
just select each item one at a time and select end task until all that's left is explorer and systray. now you should be able to defrag with no interuptions. |

Or download the program "End it All" and with a quick click... it will can all running processes.
