unmountable_boot_volume
This is the blue screen error I got. Using windows xp home edition on a 1.2ghz T-bird, 40gb ibm hard drive, epox 8k7a motherboard, 256mb crucial 2100 ram .
Strange error I got when loading windows it said: unmountable_boot_volume stop error 0x000000ED (0xaaaaaaaa............................) Funny thing is that I searched for information about this and microsoft has a patch for it, so I downloaded the patch. Now, I don't get the blue screen error anymore.... instead the computer starts loading windows, then reboots, then repeats endlessly......... The only solution I have found so far is that if I put my FSB to 120 or below, it works(when normally it is at 133), so I loose about 120ghz or so. If the FSB is at 121-133 the computer does this error. On an NTFS files system |

If you can slow it down and it works makes you think you have some flakey hardware. Try disabling the fast start option in the bios and make it test your RAM.

As to flakey hardware, my computer ran fine at 1.2 ghz for over 2 years. Just recently though I reset the bios for optimal settings and it did that error. I then tried fail safe settings and set the clock to 133(1.2ghz) and it still did the error when loading windows. Linux , however, works fine with my clock at 133. |
