NTDLL.DLL Error

operationg system = Win95

I installed new program today that I think over-wrote some existing files.

When I try and start Internet Explorer, Photo Shop, My ISP Earhlink 5.0 I receive this message.

MSVCRT.dll fiel is linked to missing export NTDLL.DLL: Rtl(GetNtVersionNumbers)

I can see the 2 Dll's referred to in the message in my Windows\system folder

any ideas how to correct error message?

Thank you

Hi blaydesbb

The program you installed most likely replaced your older mscvrt.dll and ntdll.dll files with versions too new for Win95 to use. You can try extracting the original files from your installation disk & replacing the current ones. The details on how to do this (admittedly a pain in Win95, a breeze in Win98) are over at the Microsoft Knowledge Base - click on the Win95 link at the top of the article, or scroll down to the Win95 section:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...N-US;q129605#8

Best of luck - post again if this doesn't fix it

I have found the NTDLL.dll on the win95 disk but I cannot seem to find the MSVCRT.dll file. Should it be on the win95 install disk?

Thanks

Off hand, I'm not sure where it is on the Win95 disk: but I remember it was included in a file update package for Win95 called the "Library Update" (generally sub-routine types, for use by or for building Visual Basic and Visual C++ programs)
http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/d...ry/Default.asp

Here's the Microsoft explanation:

Seems like that should do it.
I hope.

Got it!
I found the msvcrt.dll on the 95 disk, Put it in the windows\system directory and everything is good.

Thank you very much!
