Networking
Does anyone foresee a problem networking a machine that has win 2000 Pro with 2 machines running win Xp Home thru a Linksys befsr 41 router?? The 2 with XP home are already set up and I would be adding the win 2000 box!

Nope, you should be fine. Just make sure only one machine is set as the master browser for the LAN. HTH

Hi TEEB,
Sorry about that. Here's a site that will help explain it: http://www.homenethelp.com/web/expla...k-browsing.asp The only time I'd worry about this if multiple machines were trying to be the "Master Browser" at the same time. You might not have this problem though, so I would just go ahead and network the machines together. If you have trouble browsing your LAN later after everything is setup, then it's something to look at. HTH Last edited by Floppyman; 02-01-2003 at 07:19 PM. |

Just a not to let everyone know that this idea worked just fine. I just installed Win 2000, while connect to my network, and it did the rest! I just had to install the printer.
Thanx for the help!! |
