New Build...Which OS first?

I have a new build with unformatted HDD's. Two 40 Gb drives. I want to put WinXp home on one hdd with a single partition and Win2K Pro on the other hdd on a single partition. Which OS to do first and will boot loader give boot options? What's the "right " way to do this?

Morriswindgate, you are so ....how do you say, "to the point". I was hoping for a little reasoning behind the action so I learn a little bit. Thanks allot for the fast reply, though. I am only waiting for delivery of a new Plextor 4-in-one 20x10x40x12x CD-R,CD-RW,CD-Rom/DVD drive and a floppy disk to finish my build. Specs are as follows

Abit SH6 motherboard
Enermax 365W P4 ready psu (obviously not using a P4)
(2) WD 7200rpm ATA100 40Gb hdd's w/8mb buffer
Disabled onboard video.
ATI Radeon 7500 All-in-Wonder w/64mb DDR
512 Mb of Micron PC133 SDRAM
AC97 Onboard sound
3Com 905b 10/100mbps NIC
Plextor 20x10x40x12 Combo drive
Sony FDD
Dual boot Win2k and WinXP Home edition

Reason is that XP is easier to install for dual boots. So you install 2k and then XP which automatically set-up the dual boot.

The general rule of thumb is to install the older OS first because 2K's boot loader won't recognize the XP install.

OK, now I have a sidebar question. At first boot of this machine, would it be advisable to connect only one of the two 40Gb drives to install Win2K and cable and power the second for WinXP home edition when I get ready to install that OS? Also I have both drives on a ATA100 controller with 80 conductor cable and plan to jumper both drives to Cable SEL. What's the recommendation guys?

It doesn't matter but you might as well go ahead and put both of them in so you won't be juggling drive letters as much later.

The two I want to finalize as soon as possible are the C: drive and the primay CDROM. Mainly the CD needs to be where it will remain before you start adding other programs. Later on if you need the CD for anything it will look to the letter the program was originally installed from. It's not a big hassle but more of a conveinence thing. If the program needs the CD to run then it's a hassle.
