dos games do not play in full screen
I have windows xp and whenever I try to play commander keen or any other DOS game, it does not take up the whole screen it takes up the screen partially and I can not see some areas on the screen. The rest of the screen is just black and has nothing to display. This is not a huge problem but it's a big nuisance.

If they run in a true DOS environment you can try hitting F7. If not you'll have reduce your screen resolution to their native size which is probably 640X480.

My monitor does not have a setting for a 640x480 resolution, however, I used the compatiability properties in Xp to have it show in 640x480 resolution. The games are not run in a true DOS environment.

A lot of DOS games assign a keyboard key to allow you to increase or decrease the size of the screen. Have a good look at all your in-game options.
With many games the + and - keys can do this. Not sure if this will work in XP tho. HTH |

it doesn't work. There has to be some type of solution or there has to be something that I did to make it go into full screen because it has only been on full screen once.

Try installing the games with the XP Compatibility Wizard and specify the screen resolution you want the game to run at.
