While installing Windows XP I accidentally deleted the partition on the slave drive that I had stored data on. Is there any way to retrieve this data myself without having to send this drive out to a third party? The data on this drive was originally Win 98 and I have not reformatted the drive nor have I added any data since. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Since it probably FAT32 I don't know for sure. You may be able to use something like Partition Magic. As long as the master file table exists you may be able to but if it's gone you are probably out of luck. I don't know of any software that is capable of writing a new one. I would call the makers of PM, Power Quest, and see if it is possible.
Someone else here will hopefully have a better suggestion. |
