User Account Limits in XP
Hello guys,
I was wondering if there was any way to limit the limited accounts so the user cannot download or run any .exes but the programs already on it. Basically, everyone in my family is an idiot when it comes to computers, and I can't afford anymore viruses or corrupted harddrives because of people like my stupid sister downloading things. I looked around in the user accounts, and all they have is disable installing programs, but what about downloading? Thanks for any help.

If the other accounts are user accounts they will for the most part be prevented from installing programs.
As far as preventing downloads the best way I now of is to install a web filter such as Cyber Sitter which can be configured to prevent downloads as well as other malicious programs, not just porn, and is also password protected. |

There's 2 ways to stop downloading of stuff.
One, restrict internet access to none. (not practical) Two, restrict the amount of disk space each user can have. Oh, third option, get them their own computer, so they can fill it up with junk and not affect yours.
