AVI files

Can any one tell me how to conert an AVI file to a VHS tape. I have tried to find out if this is even possible but with no luck. I was hoping my TV card would be able to do this (Hauppauge wintv card) but so far no luck.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out.

I usually export video files to a digital video camera (Mini-DV), then plug the camera into the VCR, play the mini-DV tape and record onto the VCR.

If you don't have a camera, then this won't be very helpful.

Zog,

Couple of things you can do.. First you can export the file out from a video editing program, usally somewhere in last step of the video creation process there is an option to output to video. This will entail hooking up a cable from the TV Card to the camera or VHS machine then playing the file and recording it with the camera or VHS recorder. Each program is different, but is should be possible. The other way is to burn the file onto a CD in MPEG 1 or 2 format and hook up the DVD player and VHS player together and make a copy that way. I've done it this way a couple of times and have had no problems with the built-in copy right features on my DVD player. I hope this makes sense.

Well, a TV card usually has no TV-out. Some WinTV card certainly do, but you need to double check whether your card has TV out or not. If not, check if your graphic card has TV out.

If not, well, then you're gonna need a new graphics or TV card, coz without tv out you won't be able to get a picture to TV.
