Microsoft office on Windows XP
Will any version of microsoft office work on windows XP, or do I have to get the newest version?

I've used both the 97 and the 2000 versions of Office. No problems with any of them.

i prefer the way office 2000 runs on mine than the way XP did

I have Office xp on Win xp home, Office 97 on Win 2000 Pro, and Office 95 on Win xp pro

How lucky am I; I did my homework but I want to confirm with you guys (and I am not bragging) but my sister's boyfriend is acquanted with some guys in MS and says he can get me Office XP for $60bucks. Sounds like a good deal?

Sounds like a deal to me.
It is unfortunate that M$ gives versions of Windows and versions of Office similar names. Lots of people look at the names and conclude that you can only run Office XP on Windows XP or vice versa. |

that is a good deal, brings the price close to staroffice retail. sure beats my 250 I paid for xp pro upgrade.
I did get a steal cause the doofus at the store (large chain of office supplies) did not have all of the 'free' stuff they wre offering with the purchase of office so he deducted the cost of the missing software 'retail value' then deducted the cost again for the 'deal', The free stuff was all crappy software titles that I could not give away so I donated it. Love the intellimouse that came with it |
