Error in outlook xp, help!
A friend of mine installed hotbar, a thid party program that adds smiley faces and stuff to signatures and email in outlook. She didn't like it so she used add/remove programs to uninstall it. After that, in outlook 2002, whenever she selects new email message, outlook crashes, saying something like outlook is being forced to shut down, any data you have may be lost, etc. Also, when she goes to tools and options then mail format tab, outlook crashes the same way.
We tried doing a detect and repair, she completely uninstalled MS Office XP and reinstalled it. She tried to install service pack 2 for office, but for some reason it says expected version wasn't found and it won't install. As part of the error message she gets this: Error signature AppName:Outlook.exe AppVer: 10.0.2616.0 ModName: outllib.dll Offset: 00011dc The only way she can create a new email message now is by starting outlook in safe mode. So, anyone have any idea on how to fix this? I am out of ideas on what to try. |
