Hello All,
Ok heres the recent story. I had a comp which i built myself and recently upgraded my k62- 450 to an asus mobo that holds a 1gig Duron. I also installed new memory 256mb RAM. So needless to say I thought this would help speed up my computer in which I was running windows ME on. It didnt get much faster just a little which was a shock. I was thinking it could possibly be a virus being that I was inffected with the Klez several times. Anyways I always run Norton on its default Fridays at 8pm. It never found any files until recently. I did an install of windows XP Professional. Everythign went perfect and my computer is running better then ever. I installed everything including Norton at which time it ran a full system scan. It wound up finding 57 infected files within in C:/_Restore............ Two were able to be deleted, the rest it would not quarantine or delete. So it is still reading everytime I run a full scan of 55 infected files all with this damn Klez. It appears to be compressed .cpy file within a .cab file. I dont knwo what to do, I even tried running the klez untility tool from the symantic website and that didnt even find the type of klez file on my comp. I dont know what to do, can I get rid of these files?? I tried searching for the directory to try and physically remove them myself, with no luck because I couldnt not find the file path within my computer. any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone Gigabella |

Go to the control panel>System>click on the System Restore tab and turn off the System Restore. Then if you have not done it, go to my computer>tools> folder options>View tab and check show hidden file/folders.
You will now be able to delete the restore file where the virus is located. Afterwards you can turn back on System Restore, run a virus scan, and create a restore point as a backup. |
