Bookmarks-favorites-how to move
Hi Gang
What is the best way to move your favorites or bookmarks from one computer to another? I am running 98SE and IE6. Can they be put on a CD or a Floppy? I have a lot of them so I was thinking it would take a lot of floppys to save them all on, that is why I ask about the CD's. I have USB ports on both computers, so can this be used in the swap? I have heard there are several ways of doing this, so I thought I would ask the experts, what is the easiest and the best way of doing it. I am so so computer savy, but willing to try any thing. I have heard there are gadgets you can buy to do this, but is there a way with out the gadgets? Take care..........Gunny.....

Your favorites folder (most likely c:\windows\favorites) should be small enough to fit on a floppy. Check the size of the folder (right click .. properties). If it's under 1.4 mb then you should be able to copy and paste it onto a floppy disk. Then put it in the other computer and copy and paste the contents of the favorites folder on the floppy to the favorites folder on the hdd.

I would use the export function in IE. It is under file; Import and Export. Use the wizard to export your favorites to a floppy and on the new compurter use the wizard to import the favorites from the floppy.
