Start Up Logo

Hi,
How can I change the logo on the start up screen?
I mean the logo from Compaq that starts up every time I boot my computer?

Look in the bios for a enable logo and change it to disable.
if you still have trouble look in the manual bios section:

Xteq Systems X-Setup has the ability to change or turn off the startup logo.

I don't know about their desktops but if it's the one from the bios you can't disable it in their notebooks. It's a part of the bios itself. Short of manually rebuilding the flash file which I wouldn't mess with I don't know of any way.

If it's after the bios and it's one Compaq adds to their version of Windows it would be the same as changing Windows own version.

Check the readme file of a newer bios upgrade to see if they added this feature in the bios update.
But like Tuf says it may be part of the machine.

If it's coming from the bios it's doubtful you can do anything with it. If it's coming from Windows you can change it.

The BIOS splash screen can be changed to anything you want, providing you have the correct flash for your BIOS, and a picture in the correct format.
No need to look at the ugly Energy Star thingy any more
