Is this possible? How?

TIA for the input.

It used to be listed in the ADD/REMOVE programs applet but I see it isn't anymore. You might be able to do it from the add/remove windows components selection.

I do know you can effectively eliminate from the set program access and defaults feature of SP1.

I haven't home but I assume it's basically the same as Pro.

Send a message via ICQ to RJ
It's the same like with Messenger. You need to remove the HIDE entry in the sysoc.inf file located in the INF subfolder of the Windows folder (only remove the word HIDE, leave all the commas there).

Then you will get the entry "Outlook Express" in Add/Remove Windows Components, and well, then you can just uninstall it.

Does this trick work in the first version of WinXP Pro, or only after applying the SP1?

It works in all versions of XP.
Open sysoc.inf in notepad.
Click on Edit, Replace.
Type in ,hide, and replace it with ,, all instances.
Save it.
Now open add/remove programs, Windows components, and everything will be listed.
