Trying to do some house cleaning. Disk cleanup on D drive that contains XP and is NTFS will not run to completion. Per the status bar I would guess it completes 10 to 15% and just stops. I've started it and left the house and came back 2 hours later and it was at same location.
Any ideas? Thanks Chas

Maybe if you play with those little check boxxs as to what is checked that disk cleanup will try to delete, you can narrow it down to which files it is trying to delete and can not.

Thanks for reply Kt but not following you. When I select Disk Cleanup it only gives me the option of what drive to clean.

I'm thinking of the built in windows disk cleanup utility that is accessed via MyComputer>and right clicking on the desired drive, then properties, and right there on that window down on right side is box for disk cleanup. Clicking on that then gives you another window with all the little check boxxs as to what files you want disk cleanup to attemp to delete.

That's the ones it gives you the option to delete after cleanup has run. I found answer to my problem on MS knowledge base. Thanks for reply.
