Welcome to the PC MECH Forums rrkhh!

I believe you can enter things in the config.sys thru opening up config.sys with notepad, but you can also edit config.sys in MSCONFIG(Start --> Run --> MSCONFIG.

Hope that helps! Somebody correct me if I am wrong!

Nope, both will work, however the system may not have a config.sys so you can create one in notepad, enter the line(s) you need, and save it in the root of C as "config.sys", including the quotes.
If asked to overwrite, do NOT!!!
You must now open Explorer, not IE, go to Tools, Folder Options, View, and put a tick mark in "Show Hidden files and folders:.
Take the tick mark OUT of "Hide extentions for known file types", and take the tick mark OUT of "Hide protected operating system files".
Now look at the root of C, and you should see config.sys, and you can then edit it in notepad. You may have to change the properties of it to R/W from Read Only.
