XP rose like in Lazarith
I purchased an OEM version of XP Pro for our church lab which I oversee. All other machines are Win 98 and Win 2000. To my surprise the envelope for the XP disc rose from the lab and was never seen again. Does anyone know how I can get a product key from MS in this situation? I would hate to hit the budget for another licence for the same machine.
Thanks

All you can do is phone MS, and ask.
I'm sure you have the original store reciept around, that's your proof of purchase. MS is usually good about this sort of thing. |

If that copy of XP is currently installed, right click on My Computer on that machine and the CD key is on the General tab....if that's what you're needing.

ok I am very tired an d may be missing the point, but on using both, they each gave a license in numeric format, the install key is alpha numeric. I searched this site and tried a couple of links and looked at regedit etc. it looks like there are ways to deactivate the install nad chane the install key etc, but all installs require a product key that does not look to be available from within the pc
