CD-R software for WinXP

What CD-burning software (no DVD's) works best with WinXP? I read some bad reviews this morning on Roxio, Nero and Stomp's Click N Burn so what should a person use? I've had mixed luck with Nero. Thanks, Crank

I use EasyCDCreator 5 just make sure you read up on the documentation about it. You want to do a custom install and opt a view options from installing, otherwise you will be reloading your OS.

I have a copy of EasyCDCreator 5 but I'm still sitting here holding it in my hand. Tell me, which option or options screw up your OS?? I bought EZ 5 to use in Win 98 but I hesitate to install it into XP because it is so hard to root out if you have trouble. Crank

Newer versions of any burning software works under WinXP.
That'd be EZ CD Creator 5 with latest Patch, WinOnCD 5 Power Edition, and Nero 5.5 I believe.

I've got em all, and used em all, which one is your preference?
I like (in this order) Nero, Sony CD Extreme, NTI CDMaker Pro, WinOnCD, CDRWin, EZCD5, CloneCD (specialized software), BlindWrite, Fireburn...there are more..

I can't tell you off the top of my head but if you start the install and choose custom...type the list of choices there..from that I can tell you what to choose and not choose. After you are done typing the list cancel the install and I will post soon enough..I hope.

Inman74, here are the options:
Sound Stream
Sound Editor
CD Label Creator
Easy CD Creator
Take 2
Direct CD
Video Impression
Photorelay

All I ever use is Easy CD Creator. Tell you the truth, I'm leaning toward purchasing Nero.

Thanks to everyone for replying. Crank

do you really need to install more software on your system, I just use the built in cd burning software that comes with XP, soon as I put in a blank cd-r disk it just asks me what I want to put on it, super easy, no extra software, really fast and have never had a problem.

Sorry for the late response but I have been busy.

Just load:
CD Label Creator
Easy CD Creator

"X" out the rest of the stuff.
