Question autoexec.bat & config.sys question

How do you make a line "invisible" to windows of you don't want to totally get rid of it yet? I seem to recall it having to do with "remming it out", but I'm not sure.

Thanks

That's how you used to do it in DOS, I guess it works in Windows, not sure. Yeah, if you want to try it, just put REM in front of the line you don't want to be loaded.

juppy had it right. Just for info: the "REM" stands for "Remark". It let programmers put in remarks or comments that helped explain what the next section of the program or script was up to.

I run MSCONFIG and select the autoexec tab, then uncheck the box. After a reboot it has rem in front of it. Does this accomplish the same thing?
