Smile please help 2 simple problems

i just have 2 questions that i cant figur out i would greatly apreaciate it if someone could help me.


1:i want to got rid of the "log in screen" that comes up every time i start windows (me) i tried looking for a way to stop it form the control panel but no luck.

2: my other problem is programs running in the backround of my sistem. they are slowing down my conputer drimaticly and i cant find a way to stop them from opening any ideas?

For problem #2, Click Start>Run and type in "msconfig" without the quotes.
Click on the Startup tab and that will show you what programs start. Uncheck the boxes of the programs you don't want to start, click Apply and restart the pc.
There are some that MUST start. Systray, Explorer are two that must start.
You can also list the contents of the Startup tab and we will help you select.

I have always been bothered by that logon business myself. If you have tweak ui installed you can "logon automatically at start up" from the logon settings tab...here's a link to get it if you don't have it:

Your second issue can be resolved by going to start>run> and type msconfig
click on the startup tab and uncheck any programs you don't want starting at windows start up...
