file recovery under win2k

hi,
a disk of mine gave some problems, i did a scandisk under win2k and now there are a lot of files in a folder found.000 called file 00**, was wondering, can i recover the initial data from these files????

No you are supposed to delete these files, load of junk (lost clusters etc)

If you have lost anything, it's gone

actually i just found a programmm called filecCHKthat restores the orignal file extention if possible.
the files are dammadged, but i found what i needed.

OK thanks for that, whenever I tried to do anything like that I just got a load of gobbledegook.

i found it while doing a last search on google before throuwing the files out even before you did your post.
i have to mention thoug that most of the files are damadged.
the only ones that where relativly acessable where the txt files.
still i found it usefull ;-)
