SECURITY INFORMATION..........nag pop-up
while browsing on e*trade i get the "Security Information" warning pop-up.
"This page contains both secure and nonsecure items. Do you want to display the nonsecure items?" click yes or no, it goes away, until I click or do something else, when the page reloads that same damn pop-up comes up. I'm really really really getting tired of clicking yes or no for it. I haven't found anything to either get rid of it or set some sort of default where it won't do it on that site. Anyone know how to put that thing back in the cage for good? It's costing me my sanity! |

It might have something to do with your IE security setting. Do you have cookies enabed? I would check around in the Internet Options settings, Im not 100% sure which setting would fix it, give me 5 mins and Ill see if I can get it happenign on my system.
Are you registed with them? What areas were you accessing?

The security warning comes up when browsing secure sites also as an indication and as a very important reminder to you.
Check to see if the URL you are browsing is an https URL. This means that it is a secure site (also shown by the lock on the bottom right of your IE window). This means that everything that comes to your browser .. pictures, animations, text .. everything is coming from a secure portion of their web server and decrypted right there on your browser. Now having said that, sometimes designers sometimes try putting in pictures and content linked from a nonsecure website. This gives a warning to you, the viewer that, there is stuff that might not really belong here .. could also be indicative of someone seeing your secure transactions (this is extremely rare). Its a helpful warning. However if you are really getting bothered, you could do : Internet Explorer > TOOLS > Internet Options > Advanced tab .. scroll right to the bottom, and you should check mark the option that says Warn if changing between secure and not secure mode (check the attached pic) |
