Win2K installation over Win98/XP

Is there a good & short way to install win2k into a machine that has win98/winxp on it other than cleaning everything off ?

My colleague want to buy over my win XP. Will there be any activation problems ?

I think you are far better to format the drive and then install

IMHO clean installs are ALWAYS better than upgrades

As for installing over 98, that'll work fine (upgrade install). Not too sure about Windows XP. That wouldn't work

HTH, Thanks,

Jim

You can add 2000 to a machine that already has XP on it. There are a few tricks to it though. You would probably happier starting over though. If you are selling XP you'll have to remove it first.

As for selling your copy of XP, Did you purchase a retail disc or did it come with your computer?

Thanks. I think a fresh install will be safer.
As for the XP, its retail. Since its registered, I'm not sure someone else can use it.
