Which Hard Disk?

I'm currently running Windows ME, and do not have the fastest response. I have 2 hard disks, the second of which is mainly used for backup files.
Would there be any speed benefit to my system by transferring large files (eg My Photos) or little used programs, to my D drive??
Any other suggestions gladly accepted.

Thanks

Yeah you are better off getting junk off of the main drive and on the second drive. The actual best thing, next time you reload everything is to partition the main drive to where you have say a 6 gig partition for the operating system and the programs.

Yes, moving the "junk" to a different drive is a good thing to do. Depending on the size of the drives, and your useage, the number of partitions will vary. If they are large, then splitting them up into many partitions will help, as you put your "need-for-speed" items near the front of the drive, and the other stuff near the rear.
