User name in cookies

User name has changed on cookies to other than the master account name on my e-mail. How do I get rid of? I deleted the user that was added by mistake but the cookies continue to use the name. It also still appears on the start button as a "Log out ****" Please help.

Hi kcombs and welcome to PCMech!
How did you delete the user?
What operating system are you using?

Select the LOGOUT and reboot.

On reboot, it will ask for a new username to login. Either enter a username or just hit enter

You said that Logout appears on the Start Menu.

If it does, select it.

If it doesn't, do a find files for *.PWL and delete them.

Reboot.

I deleted the .pwl file and re-booted, then the log in window came back up asking for password. I also found a file called MS Messenger 2.2 and removed it through the Add/Remove Program. Is it possible a program has been installed on my machine that I can not find?

So when the window appears, change your username to whatever you want (it isn't terribly important), but whatever you choose will be prefixed to your cookies.
