A hard question for you (possibly)
My keyboard doesn't have a Sleep button, but I still want it to go to sleep at my will. So, is it possible to create a shortcut on the destktop that will do just that, put my pc to sleep. Come on! I need this.

I thought Windows XP gave that as an option in the Shut Down menu that pops up when you try to shut the machine down. I was thinking it had the Shut Down option, the option to log on as a different user, and a Sleep option.
Maybe not.

I think that if go start > shut down (or log off, or what ever it's called. I don't remember off the top of my head). If you do this and get the shutdown pop-up, I think there might be a "stand-by" button.
[edit]: Hey Juppy, I guess we're thinking of the same thing!
