This can happen if you have not entered a blank password the first time that WIndows asks you to log in, soon after you install it. Try this:
In Control Panel, double-click the Users and Passwords icon, and select Change Windows Password. When prompted for the new password, leave the New Passwored and Confirm New Password and then click OK or Apply as the case may be. Reboot and recreate a new dialup connection, selecting Save Password in the dialer. I hope this is of some help. It has been a long time since I really used Win98SE, so I may be totally wrong. |
