I like Norton as well. It seems like McAfee misses things more frequently than Norton.

Definately go with Norton AV...and make it a practice to keep your definition files updated...check for updates about 4-5 times a month.

I'm using NAV2002 and it downloads the updates automatically. It can do a scheduled daily/weekly/monthly scan as well.

On Win98SE, NAV caused all sorts of problems on my machine. wouldn't even allow Windows to load. So i used McAfee and it was quite good, no virus problems, but it did have it's bugs.

Now on XP Pro, i'm using NAV 2003 and it's running like a charm, no complaints.

I switched to NAV - live update works fine and it has already caught several viruses from files I was downloading.

Also, you can download a copy of Norton Utilities for free when you purchase NAV online for $49.95.
