It sounds like you trying to open a file or files that have macros in them. M$ has macros disabled by default for security reasons. If you are sure the files are safe you can enable the macro function.

What error is Outlook giving you?

A lot of Office problems can be fixed be using the detect and reapir function. Make sure you have any updates you need from the Office Update site.

You shouldn't lost any mail. If it was there it still is, you may have lost your shortcut to the folder.

Tell us what you did. Exactly what do the errors you are getting say?

i saw this in another post. maybe it will give you a few extra ideas on trying to rescue your emails. [and how to back up future ones] good luck.

http://www.iopus.com/guides/oe-backup.htm

oops, i forgot you made a special folder for your mail. this may not help. recycle bin checked? system restore point nearby? use file recovery software in future [ie goback] to prevent just this kind of mess! man these kind of problems suck.
