Okay, I figured out how to make the start bar clear on XP, and have given my desktop a bit of a makeover, including changing the M$ Flag on the start button, but now I have a new problem, or a couple of problems rather. I have searched Virtualplastic.org for a solution but to no avail, and their message boards have yeilded no answer as of yet. So here are my Q's
1: Does anyone know a way to change to IE Icon in XP to another one that I downloaded? 2: Does anyone know of a way to rename the recycle bin in XP? I know these are kind of quirky questions, but hey, I've seen answers to weirder things on these forms Bear in mind, I have a limited knowledge of editing programs and stuff like that, so feel free to talk down to my level! Thanks in advance, Gerberdude |

TweakUI for XP will rename the recycle bin.
I found a roundabout way of changing the icon for IE. I put the shortcut in the quick launch bar, delete the one on the desktop. Right click the one in quick launch, select properties, change icon. Drag it back to the desktop. |

Jim,
Downloaded TweakXP from the M$ site and have removed the little annoying shortcut arrows on my new and improved IE Icon but can't seem to find a function to change the recycle bin name. . .could you walk me through that if you have a minute? Thanks, Alex |

Oh hey, I just realized i could do the same thing with a shortcut like we did for the IE. Then just rename the shortcut. Okay, problem solved. Just had to think critically. . .my private education was on a lunch break. Thanks again for your help!

Just checked through TweakUI for XP and it doesn't have that option. I installed TweakUI for 98 and it does. Works too
Now I have both...
