Service Pack 3

Just installed Service pack 3..wondering if it was a wise choice? I heard that service packs are suppose to slow down your system?

Seems to be an increase in navigational speed

Where did you here that it slows your system down?

All SP's do is fix bugs and securty holes (are supposed to, anyway ).

I was talking to my cousin about Service Pack 3, and from what he said that he heard that service packs have the tendency to slow down PC's. I dont know where he heard that from, but I heard it from him.

Microsoft Windows 2000. The Service Pack 3 that you get when you run Windows Update. Not Service Pack for Internet Explorer or anything like that, just straight for the OS.

I don't know guys..I guess SP3 kinda fixed the bug with ATA100 and 2K as I read on viaarena.com that said ATA100 will work better with atleast SP2 installed..so I installed SP3..and it seems like my hard drive performance navigation has improved by some bit.

ANytime you make a bunch of changes at once you run the risk of having some problems. There were a variety of problems reported with XP SP1. I installed it on a bunch of systems and it went smooth for me on all of them. I think they run a little better afterwards also.
