The log off is a standard thing which can be removed but i am not sure where to do this at, I think bios but do not quote me on that. When you save to floppy and it is done does it then go "BSOD" or is it later in session? What kind of motherboard do you have?

Try looking in the device manager at the floppy drive. If there's an exclaimation point on it, remove it and reboot. Repeat a second time if it's still there. Don't bother to try it a third time, though.

Try pushing in the IDE cable on both the motherboard and the floppy drive.

More often than not, clearing everything from the Recent Documents list on the start menu solves the problem of the floppy being searched when attempting to save a file.

If that doesn't do the trick, other possible fixes are:
Clear Unwanted Entries from the Start Menu's Run Command.
Search your hard disk for all .PIF that point to programs on a floppy drive
Take out LocalLoadHigh=1 from your MSDOS.SYS file.
Check HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/CLSID in the Registry for any references to OCX's or DLL's referenced on the floppy.

To stop the floppy search on boot up, go to Control Panel>System>Performance tab>File System tab>Floppy Disk tab, uncheck "Search for new floppies disk drives each time your computer starts," OK your way out.

I wonder if there would be some prog set to startup with your comp in msconfig that looks for a floppy. Seems kind of farfetched, though.

Did you clear the recent documents as Miz suggested. Here's where the folder is: "C:\windows\recent". Delete everything in there.
