Hi, I'm running WinXP pro on a MSI K7N2 (NVIDIA nForce2 chipset) with an AthlonXP 2100 processor and 32bit sound card.
I'm trying to get my old MS Sidewinder Forcefeedback pro 'stick to work. But when I try to add it, I get a "Gameport drivers not properly configured" error. When I go to the Device Manager, and click on the Properties for the Game Controler, I get a "This device cannot find enough free resources (Code 12)" error, and it tells me that the assigned I/O address (201) is conflicted - but I can't change the setting - the change settings option is grayed out. I've also disabled a few non-essential resources in the Dev. Manager as well, but nothing changes. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for your help/advice! |

Hi, and welcome to PCMech.
Here's what I'd try. Boot to safe mode, and remove the game port, and joystick from device mangler. Restart, and see if you can get them to reinstall. |
