Driver that wont go away

I am running windows XP and am trying to upgrade video drivers. When I try and install it it says I need to uninstall the nvidia drivers currently installed before puting the new one in.

When I uninstall the old driver it says to restart to take effect. But 10 sec after the desktop shows up the screen blinks and the driver is back.

How do I get rid of it so I can install the new driver?

when you remove your old drivers you should run a registry cleaner before rebooting.

Boot into SAFE mode Uninstall all drivers completely set the Video on STANDART and then there should be no problems ..
