Please help, I'm stuck
Okay, essentially windows 2000 started acted up on me because I tryed getting rid of some corrupted files. When I tried to get rid of the files I must of deleted too many things and nothing is working good anymore.
So, I put a system restore cd in and restarted and this should bring my comp back to the way it was when I first got it. I've done this before too. But now, it goes about 50% and says I have some corrupted file and the process ends and it takes me to dos. So now, I can't get into windows anymore. Since I'm in dos, I tried to format my harddrive with FORMAT C:/S but it didn't work. The reason I wanted to format is so maybe the system restore cd could make it all the way through the process. Is there anything I could do do format my harddrive anymore or is there some other crazy solution I haven't thought of? Please help! |

I think that the win2000 CD is bootible. Try that. Make sure that the CD-ROM is one of your boot up devices.

What kind of computer is this? A home built or a store bought PC? If it's a store bought, what brand is it?
If you're using a branded PC and are trying to use the restore CD, find out if the CD is bootable or if it needs an accompanying floppy in order to do the restore with. If the restore CD is bootable, you have to go into BIOS and set the first boot device to the CD-ROM drive and make sure the IDE devices are set to AUTO. Cricket
