Reset desktop background color

To reset the desktop background color, set the value in registry:
In XP it is HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Colors

But in windows98, I can't find the item "Color" under
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\,

Could you tell me how should I do on Windows9x and Windows ME.
Thanks!

I have figure out it.
I can add the key "color" manually in the registry-->Edit menu or use RegCreateKeyEx() in program.
