How to purge autocomplete...
ok, i'm not talking about in IE, i'm talking about in folders.
for example, when you go to start>search, the form that you type in: if you type something that you've typed before, it will pop down a little box with possible matches. how do you clear that? |

Right click on the IE ICON, select properties>COntent> AutoComplete, uncheck all the boxes, click on clear forms, and click on clear passwords. For security do not reenable.

To turn off autocomplete in the Search feature, open Search, scroll the left-hand pane down to "Change Preferences," click on that, scroll the left-hand pane down again (if necessary) to find "Turn Autocomplete off" and click on it. That should do it.

If you just want to manage the contents of the drop-down box on a web-form, double-click the empy box to display the menu, move the mouse to highlight the unwanted item, and hit the Delete key.

Open regedit and go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Search Assistant\ACMru Check the subfolders and delete the necessary keys. |
