I have recently fond a virus in my pc- the program is called liteozy.exe-i don't know what it is. The virus cannot be contained, so I delete the file and the registery value of it. Now everytime I start win98 the dialog box comes out saying that the program cannot be executed-and there is this win.ini dialog box that comes right after that. I press ok, and resume normal pc functions. The problem is, if I don't press ik, then the pc will not load-icons wont pop up and everything in place. Its like I need to varify this software before do other stuff. Is there a way to make this dialog box dissapear/ bypass it?

Are you sure it was a virus, I did a search for it and cannot find it. A program to try is RegCleaner from www.jv16.org

Go to Start > Run > and type in: win.ini
Look for a line that says: run=liteozy.exe Delete that line, save and exit. Restart. If you still get the message, go to Start > Run > and type in: system.ini Look for the run= line, delete it, save and exit. Restart. If you still get the error, go to Start > Run > and type in: regedit Search using the search function for "liteozy", and delete ALL references to it. Exit and restart. |

Well I did find it in the registery and delete it after i deleted the file. Then this dialog box comes out. I search through win.ini-nothing-which is odd sice that dialog box appeard. Well this liteozy is some kind of .exe which has to do with internet connectioon-it can received and transmit data-I found that out through zone alarm. After I first discovered it-using avg-the system crash immediately-which was annoying. When I search the virus log-tried to quarantine-denied-so Ideletethe file, use reg edit to delete the value. Now this dialog box comes out.
Well I did find the file in win ini-now its time to wait and see after restart
