Hi,
I just installed my first copy of WinXP Pro. All went well....so far When I try to update, I get to the microsoft website, and it tells me one of the programs im downloading is XP Service pack 1. When I try to install it, I cant. It keeps saying invalid key or something Any ideas> Zinedene |

XP can only be loaded and activated on 1 PC. Since he built another PC for you, was this copy loaded on it per chance?

Hi,
Yeah, It was on the first PC, which I didnt know about, until just now. They already had the SP downloaded etc. So, if I want XP on the other PC, I have to go out and buy another copy? thats a bit expensive.. :-( |

Yep .. we got things running smoothly, else there'd be no way to control the type of information from getting illegal. There just isnt a way out from Microsoft's one XP per computer policy. The fact of the matter is that even with a keygen, you still will have to report that generated number to Microsoft when doing WPA. I'd hate to think what might happen if the number you generated turned out sthing that was already registered before etc. So all said and done, better to use your old copy of Windows 2000 or buy a MAC
