I have a question about my device manager and USB
You can see my mainboard in my sig. It came with four USB connectors onboard. Two are connected to a 4 input expansion slot on the back of the pc. I have connected the other two board outputs to the two on the front of my case, I also have a four input hub device which is USB 1.0 (all the others are 2.0).
My question is why does the device manager list so many usb ports when I only have ten places to plug into? See the attached photo. I haven't had any issues with USB, I'm just curious as to why USB is listed so many times.

You have a controller listed for each pair of USB ports, then, you have a hub listed to each pair + your added hub.

How many USB devices are connected?
You'll have a host controller for each, as well as chipset drivers. |
