bad directsound driver
I've got this compaq computer here, and it has a clean install of windows 2000 pro on it, and its working real well, except when i try to play anything with sound. In winamp, i get "Bad DirectSound driver. Please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration"
I've upgraded DirectX to 8, to see if that worked...no dice...then I tried 9...still nothing. Also, tryed downloading some sort of audio drivers from the compaq website, still didnt work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

You need to call Compaq Tech Support and get the direct link for the drivers.
