Hi wnatas666,
I assume this is for a Network? After the Network has been established, go to Control Panel>Network>Print and File Sharing. Then you choose if you want other computers on the Network share files and Printers. After the PC restarts, you should find that Sharing has been added to the right-click. HTH |

this is a 'regular' simple 2 pc network right?
on first sight, you dont have 'printer and filesharing for microsoft networking installed. ' in win98 (right click on my network in desktop, take properties . in the window that pops up, you can see wich protocols and services are installed you should at least see -network adapter -your tcp/ip card -ipx protocols -printer and filesharing for microsoft networking (i hope im not forgetting any since i dont have a win 98 pc by the hand now.) for the passwork problem. maybe try without the password first, see what happens then. when all this is installed properly, you should get a tab 'sharing' when you right click on your hd in "my computer" --> properties. hope this can help

One more detail that might help you: if you are sharing a resource on a Win2000 pc with a Win98 pc, the name of the shared resource (shared folder or whatnot) has to be 12 characters or less. Otherwise Win98 can't see it.
Hope this helps - it's an easy fix (use a shorter name) . . . Gary |
